TV & FILM - Death on the Nile

Death on the Nile – Cinematic Elegance in Period Glass Lighting

For the opulent world of Death on the Nile, the production team turned to John Moncrieff to supply vintage-style glass lighting that echoed the grandeur of 1930s design. Set aboard the luxurious paddle steamer S.S. Karnak, the film required lighting that not only complemented the Art Deco interior but also performed beautifully under cinematic conditions.

We provided a bespoke selection of frosted and ribbed, glass shades—each crafted to deliver soft, flattering light while staying faithful to the period. Our pieces were featured in key areas of the ship’s set, including the saloon, guest cabins, and observation decks, bringing a warm, authentic glow to every scene.

Working in close collaboration with the film’s art department, we ensured that our lighting enhanced the atmosphere of mystery and romance central to Agatha Christie’s iconic story. From design selection to studio delivery, our team supported the production with technical expertise, fast turnarounds, and reliable craftsmanship.

If you’re producing a period film or historical drama and need glass lighting that stands out on screen, our team is here to help you get every detail just right.
