TV & FILM - Hugo
Hugo (2011) Set Lighting
For Scorsese’s Hugo, set in 1930s Paris, John Moncrieff Ltd collaborated with the production team to craft glass shades that echoed the architectural and industrial ambience of Gare Montparnasse railway station
Hand-Blown Ribbed Glass Cylinder Shades
Custom-blown ribbed cylinders added texture and character to station platforms and interior corridors. The ridges created dynamic light play, reminiscent of early‑20th‑century industrial glasswork—adding historic depth to scenes of clocks, gears, and bustling crowds.
350 mm Opal Globe Rod Pendant
Oversized opal-glass globes softly diffused overhead lighting, perfect for vaulted ceilings and ticket hall spaces. Suspended on rods in period finishes, they evoke the elegant yet functional design of the era’s train-station architecture
These shades form part of our extensive film & period lighting collection. Each piece is hand-crafted for historical accuracy and visual storytelling, available in custom finishes and bespoke dimensions.
