Crystal Chandelier Restoration – From the Isle of Harris to Kinross

A Journey of Trust and Craftsmanship

We were honoured to welcome a customer who travelled all the way from the Isle of Harris to our workshop in Kinross. They brought with them a stunning but time-worn crystal chandelier in need of expert repair and restoration.

The Challenge

The chandelier, a substantial and intricate piece, had suffered damage over the years. Several glass arms were broken, a number of crystals were missing, and the wiring was no longer safe or functional for modern use.

Our Restoration Process

1. Initial Assessment and Disassembly

Upon arrival, we carefully assessed the full condition of the chandelier and documented each part. The fixture was then delicately disassembled to ensure no further stress was placed on any fragile components.

2. Replacement of Damaged Components

We sourced and installed new crystal arms to replace the broken originals, ensuring that the replacements matched both the size and style of the chandelier. Missing drops and crystals were also replaced with carefully selected pieces to restore visual balance.

3. Full Rewire and Cleaning

The entire chandelier was rewired to meet modern safety standards while maintaining the integrity of its design. Each crystal and glass element was gently cleaned and polished, bringing back its original brilliance and sparkle.

4. Secure Packing for Return to Harris

Once fully restored, the chandelier was meticulously reassembled and then securely wrapped and packaged onto a pallet. Every element was cushioned and protected for safe transportation back to the Isle of Harris, ensuring it would arrive in perfect condition.

The Result

The customer was delighted with the transformation. What had once been a damaged heirloom is now a show-stopping centrepiece, restored to its original elegance and safely ready for installation once again.
